Talking About The Instagram Glitch

Instagram warned us all last year that if you have ever purchased followers, likes etc you will start to see these slowly being removed from your account. Even if you haven’t bought any followers, you may have some inactive accounts and bots following you which isn’t something that will benefit your account in the long term.

Fast forward a few months and welcome to what this famous app is describing as the Instagram Glitch. Instagram has started to investigate a problem that has caused some of its most popular accounts to lose millions of followers in a matter of hours. Huge celebrities Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez witnessed huge losses of followers and quite a few of the popular YouTubers, Celebrities and Instagrammers took to Twitter to vent their frustrations. Remember when Kylie Jenner took to Twitter slating Snapchat after they changed some of their settings, well let’s just say the once famous App has never been the same again so it’s no surprise that Instagram wanted to get this cleared up straight away.

Instagram took to Twitter and announced, “We’re aware of an issue that is causing a change in account follower number for people right now, we’re working to resolve this as quickly as possible”.

So was this just an Instagram Glitch or were they performing a sporadic sweep to remove spam and inactive accounts which they did state back in November that they were going to activate this over the following months.

Honestly, in my opinion I feel that we do need to remove the bought followers, inactive accounts and all the spam. I mean why would you want millions of followers that don’t engage with your content anyway? Let’s all share the love and support one another, engage with your followers content and in return you will have loyal followers for life.
